Ms Satarupa Bose Roy
Satarupa Bose Roy was born in India in 1979. She moved to the UK in 2001 to do Masters in English Literature and thereafter pursued her career in journalism in the United Kingdom and in India at some leading media houses. Later she came to the Netherlands with her husband in 2007.
Soon she became an integral part of the Indian Diaspora and with her skills in journalism and media she founded Indyana, which became the first Indian Diaspora magazine in the Netherlands. While she publishes Indyana as a part of pursuing her journalism career, publishing still remains her hobby. She is a full time English Language teacher in the Netherlands and is an active member of the Indian Diaspora. She is the director of publications at one of the oldest Indian think tanks in Europe, Foundation for Critical Choices for India (FCCI).
She is also a board member of Indo Dutch Care Foundation which is a non-profit organisation in the Netherlands serving India. Writing is her passion. She has published several books and articles in Bengali, which is her mother tongue.
